The series was meant to be the flagship of the now-defunct United Paramount Network (UPN), but is now streamed on Netflix, CBS-All Access and can also be seen on BBC-America. VGR is one series that I’ve had a few major issues with, but there are also a number of its episodes that I still revisit, and the pilot (“Caretaker”) had much promise. In my opinion, all of Star Trek is worthy of fan appreciation to some degree or another, and individual mileage with each series will vary. ![]() Hero shot of the starship USS Voyager (NCC-74656) the ship was rendered in a combination of models and computer-graphics, which were juuuust becoming affordable on a TV budget in those days, thanks to pioneering works like “Babylon 5.”īefore I get too deep into this personal retrospective of “Star Trek: Voyager” (1995-2001), I have to state upfront that “Voyager” (VGR) is perhaps my least favorite series of the Star Trek canon, but that’s not to say that I actively dislike it, or that this is going to be a hatchet job on the series, because I don’t, and it’s not. ![]()
